X-Men: The Last Stand
I had fun. It wasn't good. Characters just die in anticlimactic ways and it just feels unfulfilling to watch. They exploded my grandpa and it just made me feel kinda weird!!! I like the cure vs acceptance stuff in theory but it's just not really explored enough. What they did to Mystique is unforgivable. The scene with Angel hacking at his wings had me in a chokehold as a kid for reasons I did not understand at the time.
X2
NOW THAT'S A MOVIIIIE!!!!! So stressed out the whole time they were trashing the mansion because apparently it really gets me when a place that was safe gets destroyed. This is the hottest Logan's ever looked. The oversized hoodie? I have to die. Every time I watch this I hope I've somehow gotten my hands on a long lost copy in which Scott Jean and Logan actually make it work :(
The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen
THANK GOD. Came for the romance, stayed for a traumatized man doing everything in his power to make sure a kid doesn't have to be afraid all the time anymore. I really liked all the different family dynamics and how many times the characters fuck up and all the communication it takes to get them to a point where they, like, work. Awesome. Got really worried for a second there at the end.

The New Batman Adventures
SO fun, really strong start with the first episode and I'm obsessed with Dick's mullet. I actually love the designs, Joker is cute as hell and Scarecrow?? HELLO? Scary as hell I love him. More recent Batman shows just don't feel like this and BTAS... 4 stars bc women are plot devices but I guess that's kinda par for the course.
The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting
Delightful. I really love the female characters in this, I was soooo invested in Alice the whole way through. Really funny also, and one of those books where the fact that it's a historical romance really pays off when someone destroysss all the villains the second they don't have to keep being polite anymore. Love is real!!
Deadpool & Wolverine
Was it good? No. Not really. It was kinda bloated with self-derision without an actual examination of the tropes it was joking about. Big nothingburger of a plot. Was it the most fun 2 hours I've had in a while? Absolutely. Would watch these two sweaty men tear and claw at each other for another 3000 hours. Wish Vanessa had gotten to be a person instead of pretty furniture. Placid even for a chair!
Fields of Mistria
THEE farming sim of my dreams. It's only the early access and it's incredible, truly the most fun I've had playing this kind of game. The bachelors are all SOOOO charming, the combat is perfect, the story is so engaging, and it's so CUTE!!! I wish some of the older NPCs were single though... Terithia...
If Books Could Kill
Not quite as much for me as some other Michael Hobbes podcasts! I really enjoyed the episode on Love Languages.

Bugsnax
Did not expect this to fuck like hell. I went into it knowing nothing about it and started getting worried about it being gimmicky halfway through, but it's just genuinely so fun and the horror-adjacent elements do actually work well. A little repetitive at times.

The Big Reveal
Mostly a good read!! My own fault realizing it wasn't just a history of drag but also a memoir, and I'll admit I wasn't super interested to read about someone's experience on a reality show. Which again I understand will have been the reason someone picked up the book in the first place! That one's on me, sorry Ms Velour.
